Football Ministry in Great Britain
Since 1997, Ambassadors Football in Great Britain has been using football to share the good news of Jesus and see lives changed. We serve the local church by creating welcoming spaces where faith can be shared, disciples can be made, and communities can be transformed through Christ.
Football helps us build trust, friendships, and gospel-centered relationships that open doors to real conversations about life and faith. We invest in people—training and equipping them to follow Jesus and to use football as a powerful tool for mission.
Why Football?
Football is played all over the world and has the power to bring people together, to break down barriers and build friendships to enable us to share faith and support.
“A coach will influence more people in a year than the average person will in a lifetime.” – Billy Graham
“Sport has the power to change the world…” – Nelson Mandela
“Football brings people together. I always feel that it’s something that just happens naturally with football because you can just go into a bunch of strangers and you can get on with it because football’s its own language, its own vibe.” – Ian Wright
Mission & Values
Club Vision: We are part of a global organisation that connects people to Jesus through football.
Club Mission: We want to:
- Invest in churches – show churches how to serve their local communities through football
- Invest in people – we want to mentor and train individuals to be confident Christians who can share their faith through football.
- Share Jesus through football – we want to see many hear the good news of Jesus through football in Britain and around the world through investing in others to enable this to happen.
Values: We share and uphold the Ambassadors Football global values – view here.
By 2027, we are praying and working to:
Partner with 800 churches in their disciple-making mission (currently around 434)
Train 100 leaders to live out and share their faith through football and our TREC programs.
Ambassadors Football Great Britain is part of the wider Ambassadors Football family, serving in nations around the world with a shared gospel vision.

Summer Camps
Each year Ambassadors Football partners with local churches to deliver quality faith-based Football Camps. Whether you want to run a camp during school holidays, over a weekend or just to organise one for half a day, we are happy to help your Church to do so.
Why?
Whilst many young people today would never dream of stepping foot into a church, a football pitch is a different story. We want to break down that barrier and reach children through the sport that they love, teaching them about Jesus in the process.
Our heart for Camps is to help players realise their full potential in football, but more importantly, in God.
Format
Designed for Your Church
The church connection is key as they are able to invest in individual’s lives throughout the year in a way we can’t.
We want to be flexible around what you envision for your church. Whether you want to run a Camp during school holidays, over a weekend or even just for a few days we are happy to support your vision.
Ambassadors can help you plan your programme from start to finish and our aim is to set you up for success in hosting and delivering a great Camp.
We believe camps work best when they are integrated into a longer-term plan for your community and so we will discuss ways of making that possible.
Interested?
Are you a church interested in running a Camp? Would you like to come along and see one in action? Do you want more information or just have a few questions?
Whatever the reason, get in touch. We would love to chat with you and share in the vision you have. Please contact Rob at rtaylor@ambassadorsfootball.org
2026 Camps TBA soon.
What people are saying about camps...
The Academy
Come for 9-12 months to experience and learn how to use football to share Jesus. The Ambassadors Football Academy focuses on discipleship, evangelism and leadership.
Football Tours
Tours have been the foundation of Ambassadors Football, the first tour going to Austria and Germany in 1991. Many of today’s Ambassadors Football staff actually experienced their call and passion for full-time football outreach through going on tour. We offer both coaching tours and playing tours.
Coaching Tours (1-6 Weeks)
Sharing your life with young people whilst teaching football skills is what a coaching tour is all about. In partnership with a local church, the tour starts with you being trained by educators with FA qualifications. You then begin to work alongside them to help deliver Camps for children through a local church.
We need people with a passion for sharing their faith and a readiness to learn to be a football coach. No previous experience is necessary. Regular tours take place in Europe and the USA in July/August.
Playing Tours (1-2 Weeks)
Want an experience of a lifetime? To challenge your world view, faith and help you see the needs of the world?
A playing tour can include matches, coaching sessions, prison/orphanage outreach, team devotions and fellowship. We always see God impact people on and through the tour. If you are a player, coach, medic or want to serve in a support role, then a tour is for you!
